'100 miles is a long way on a bike?!'
The late summer bank holiday at the end of August saw another big event in the clubs calendar....the 100 mile club ride.
Just one week after the RP 100k hill climb challenge came the next event for our members to get their teeth into.
The route took us out in a westerly direction heading from HQ to Market Bosworth for our first stop, then onto Mountsorrel, Leicestershire for lunch and finally a stop in Measham for a quick refuel with our very own support broom wagon meeting us at each stop and answering to our every whim.
20 riders took on the immense challenge of riding the 100 mile course with a 'little lump'of a Cat 4 climb thrown in at Beacon Hill, Woodhouse Eaves just after the lunch stop.
The day was a roaring success with all riders completing the course and getting over said 'little lump' successfully, massive kudos goes to all who completed the challenge, it really is a huge achievement...100 miles is a long way on a bike!
Once again there was three of our riders who took the challenge to a whole new level and completed the course twice...yes you read that right....twice!!!...200 miles in one day.....DONE!!!
An absolutely phenomenal achievement!!
